Annual Membership Commitment for the year of July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018
Temple Brith Achim financial matters are established in the context of Jewish values, principles and ethics.
- While Judaism itself can thrive without reference to finances, a community of Jews and their families who are committed to the purposes of the synagogue – learning, worship, and fellowship – does need financial resources to help each other and themselves.
- The Annual Membership Commitment is determined voluntarily by you. Financial ability is not a barrier to membership.
- All members are expected to contribute financially; ideally, all members also contribute time, energy and talent to the congregation.
- In order to maintain our fiscal health, Temple Brith Achim asks each household to contribute an annual Gift of the Heart of $2,600.
- We ask households unable to commit to $2,600 to consider a minimum Gift of the Heart of $1,800, and more, if possible.
- Knowing that many of our member households cannot contribute the requested amounts, we ask that households who are able, consider a larger gift. For example:
- Become an Ozer (Helper) Member by pledging $5,000 or more for the year.
- Become a Maccabee by committing to a pledge of $5,000 in addition to your Gift of the Heart, each year, for a period of 3 years.
- Every household is an equal part of the Temple Brith Achim community. Please be assured that your commitment is strictly confidential.
